Talkpush automatically calls, records job candidate answers

(Tech News) Interviewing multiple candidates daily can grow tiresome. Talkpush can help automate the interview process, making your job easier.

Talkpush calls and records job candidates

Phone interviews are monotonous. You and your team spend a lot of time talking to potential job candidates asking the same questions over and over again with each new candidate. More often than not, it does not take a full interview to decide if a potential candidate is a good fit for your company. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could skip to the next candidate without listening to all their responses? A new app, Talkpush helps you do just that: skip over unwanted candidates, saving you time and helping you find who you need, faster.

Talkpush lets you source candidates using your usual channels, including online job postings, and automatically forward the candidates’ resumes to your Talkpush account via email. As soon as Talkpush receives a resume, they contact the candidate via email and SMS. This will send them an invitation to call in; when they do, they will hear your welcome message and answer your pre-recorded interview questions.

Once a candidate has completed the interview, you can search, filter, rate, shortlist, and reject, from the Talkpush interface. If there are multiple people involved in the hiring process, you can automate emails to multiple managers. When it comes time to let a candidate know they did not make the cut, you can automate this as well, if you choose.

Time saver, but questions remain

Talkpush can save you time by avoiding listening to multiple responses from a candidate you already know you do not want. It also saves you time in the repetitive process of asking the same question over and over again. It also makes the interview process more convenient, both for your company and your potential candidates because your candidates call in when they have time and you can review at your leisure. The phone-in system, is the same as if you were asking the questions yourself; there are no do-overs for the candidate, forcing them to think on their feet and giving you an assessment of their communication skills.

The only down side to Talkpush that I see right offhand is that some candidates are going to be intimidated by the automated system, but these same people are more than likely intimidated by a phone interview anyway. Also, I am not sure how Talkpush handles sensitive information and how (or if) this information is stored. As of today, when you click the “privacy policy” link, it is blank. I would like to know how they handle your information before taking the plunge, but assuming they put a privacy policy in place, this seems to be a good option for people who are conducting multiple interviews and want to simplify the process.

Interviewing candidates is a necessary part of the employment process and anything you can do to make this process easier, is worth a look, even if it is just a first step in qualifying candidates.
