Facebook fans cost $1.07 each
Facebook is the marketer’s mecca, offering endless user data, refined ad campaign capabilities, low (yet rising) cost per click, and it has people. Lots of people. Over 800 million of them, meaning over 1600 eyeballs on the page, half of whom log in to Facebook every single day.
According to a recent study by Webtrends as portrayed in Flowtown’s infographic below, if you are a business that wants to obtain a Facebook fan, it costs the equivalent of a McDouble or a gas station coffee. The report revealed that the average cost of obtaining a single fan is $1.07.
The majority (70 percent) of businesses surveyed say they use Facebook as their main marketing tool and three out of four young small businesses are using Facebook to promote themselves. There is no question that consumers and businesses alike are flocking to the social network in spite of privacy issues.
