Top 7 iPhone apps that are now free

Apps for your iPhone or iPad are great ways to get the most and best use out of your devices. Think of it as customizing your phone or tablet to fit your personality, your lifestyle, and your professional needs. And with so many apps to choose from, it can be a little intimidating sometimes, especially when you’re not sure if an app is worth the price. So, we’ve taken price out of the equation. Here are seven iPhone or iPad apps that are now free to download. Have at it!

1. Used to be $0.99

Battery Go! – This app for your iPhone or iPad will tell you exactly how much battery life you have left. That way, you will know if the project, report, or work email you’re working on will be finished before your phone or iPad dies. Consider it a time management tool. And according to the app description, the New York Times even recommended it.

2. Used to be $1.99

Dunnit – Dunnit is a simple app that allows you to create to-do lists, and it was featured in Wired magazine. You can choose to repeat tasks, integrate with your Twitter account, or set up notifications to remind you of tasks that still need to be completed. And the design is completely customizable.

3. Used to be $6.99

Text’nDrive – You can listen to your messages and reply by just speaking the response, all while you’re driving. Text’nDrive makes your phone hands free, at least as far as messaging is concerned. And since there seems to be a theme of recommendations from big names, Text’nDrive was recommended by CNN, according to the creators of the app.

4. Used to be $1.99

Dayta – While this app can be used in many ways, it can also be used to track your work productivity. You can basically track any information or data you want, including hours worked on a project, travel time and expenses, and clock in and out times. Once you’re done, you can organize and export the data.

5. Used to be $0.99

ContactsXL 1 – ContactsXL 1 is just one more app that allows you to manage and organize your ever-growing list of contacts. You can include birthdays, photos, and of course contact information. It’s simple, straight forward, and convenient.

6. Used to be $0.99

WhatsApp Messenger – This app is a “cross-platform smartphone messenger.” You can send and receive chat messages while on the go. This is perfect if the main way your employees or coworkers interact during business hours is through an online messaging service.

7. Used to be $0.99

Fast Contacts – Advertised as a “contacts app on steroids,” Fast Contacts features include birthday or anniversary alarms, the ability to sort contacts by monthly events or by companies or departments, and you can flip through your contacts using cover flow technology—which is the same way you flip through album art using your iPod.

Free is good, almost always. And the above apps are no exception. While these apps won’t stay free forever, there will always be more worthwhile apps to take their places. It comes down to experimenting with available apps in order to make your phone uniquely you while enhancing your professional productivity and influence, and it makes it so much easier when they’re free.
