Hooks for iPhone users
On the iPhone, notifications are not very customizable. You either get every alert about everything or you get nothing. You may need to check ten to twenty different apps to keep up with your interests.
Searching the web for this information is time consuming and outdated. With Hooks, a new app that’s available in the iTunes store, you get notifications that are specific to you.
In March 2015, the newest version of Hooks was released. According to Oleg Kozynenko, one of the co-founders of Hooks, there are 60 new channels with a complete redesign based on user feedback. Hooks works on the iPhone and smartwatches, and it’s available in multiple languages for users around the globe.
More reasons Hooks is awesome
Hooks has very specific filtering options that are easily configurable to each user’s preferences. If you follow a specific sports team, you can get scores as they happen. Follow your personal brand every time it’s mentioned online. Get stock market updates by company when the prices change. Weather alerts, rain, snow, or pollen, from your exact ZIP code are no problem with Hooks. Track shipments or flights with just a few taps of your phone.
Hooks says it will build a particular alert if one isn’t available, but there are alerts for entertainment notices, new restaurants, and even social media. When an alert comes up about your topic, it links to the article, so you have easy access when you have time to take a look. Currently, Hooks is available at no charge to iPhone users.
After just three days, I’m in love with Hooks
There have many times I’ve wanted to follow up with a news story but forgot. I don’t always pay attention to the weather, but I like to know when a thunderstorm is headed our way. Hooks keeps me up to date without having to check different apps for the information I want. It was easy to configure.
I can see businesses using it to track marketing messages or information about a specific topic. It’s like having your own personal assistant to gather news articles on the topics you want. Get Hooks, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
