Right Inbox Gmail extension tracks when emails are opened

A major problem with Gmail is that it does not offer scheduling and tracking of emails, but Right Inbox is a free Chrome extension that answers to that very problem for free.

Filling in the Gmail blanks

As Gmail is being used increasingly by professionals, the gaps in the service become more clear over time. In February, AGBeat introduced you to Right Inbox for the ability to delay emails and send them at a later date or time, which is a huge benefit to business professionals.

Today, the company released a new feature called “email tracking” which does exactly what you think it does – informs you of when a recipient opens your email. This feature has been highly anticipated by users, and the company told AGBeat in February that it was their next feature to launch.

The company says, “It is very simple to use. When you go to your Compose screen you will notice an additional button labeled as Track! You may use that checkbox button before you send an email. When the recipient opens your email, you will be notified by another email instantly.”

Tracking emails is extremely useful, and also works on Right Inbox emails that have been scheduled for a later time. Knowing when a client has seen that important contract, or knowing when your employee actually saw your note is helpful not only for negotiations but for productivity and learning the behavior of people around you.

Last week, AGBeat introduced you to the Yesware Chrome extension that also offers free tracking tools. What these two companies make clear is that Gmail continues to lack basic features a professional needs in order to operate more efficiently, but developers have set out to fill those gaps and make Gmail a productive tool that is suitable for professional use, not just limited to personal use.

Installation of Right Inbox is easy and like any other Chrome extension requires two clicks and it is completely installed for free on your browser.
