Have you ever wondered what downtown used to look like, what used to be on that street corner or maybe you have old pictures of your city that you’d like to share?
Enter HistoryPin.com where users can upload pictures dating back over 100 years, line them up with the current Google Street View and show what the city used to look like (click here for an example). Users can even “write a story” and include data about what they are uploading or even a personal story.
We love this idea of user generated historical documentation and we have had fun looking at submitted photos almost as if in a time machine. It’s great inspiration for real estate blogging content, showing your family, clients and friends what used to be and if you have any pictures of your city dating before 2001, you should add them with your own personal story… I’m sure many of you have pictures of your first real estate office back in the day, no?

I’ve done a series of posts using pictures from my Oklahoma City postcard collection. On many of them I’ve used the same view from Google Maps. The link is okchomesellers.com/tag/postcard
