It’s not that complicated
For years, we’ve been reading about and studying Augmented Reality and we’ve even written a bit about it, but it’s an easy phrase to overlook because it sounds so technical and like science fiction, it really is a poor phrase for such a simple and often ignored technology with hugely massive implications in the real estate world.
So what is augmented reality? Have you ever watched a football game on tv and wondered how the heck they get those yellow lines on the field? Like this:
That’s augmented reality- overlaying a computer generated image on to a real life situation by using a camera, either webcam or cell phone camera. This is not the future, it’s the present and believe it or not, in some places, you can already pick up your cell phone, turn on the camera, use a simple application and aim the cam at houses up and down the street and see which homes are for sale and with a click of a button, you can see various data.
We’ll be talking more over time about augmented reality (AR) technologies because of their implications and honestly because of my obsession with it- I have over 300 articles bookmarked that I want to share with you, so stay tuned!
