MLS Fail Shots [Episode 5]

Massive Amounts O Crap Fail

tons of crap MLS Fail Shots [Episode 5]

We’re playing a game with this one, ladies and gentlemen.  Sort of a Where’s Waldo, I Spy game of crap that you wouldn’t dare let people know is in your home.  Find the following:

  1. Mickey Mouse giving the “thumbs up”.  No doubt the product of a Christmas gift exchange.
  2. Pink exerise ball.  Used only the first three weeks of January after the “resolution” and just before the 10 day cruise to Puerto Vallarta through the Panama Canal.
  3. A hook rug butterfly as wall art.  Nothing adds that je ne sais quoi like and an eight grade Home Ec. project.

Thanx to Nick Barnes for that gem.

Fuse Box Fail

badmlscircuit MLS Fail Shots [Episode 5]

We all understand why inspectors take photos of electrical panels and fuse boxes but why on earth would an agent?  All that comes to mind when I see this is Michael Keaton in the movie, Mr. Mom.  When he tries to cover a household disaster by saying he’s rewiring with 220 or 221, whatever it takes to get the job done.  Anywho, I would like to know if those extra loose wires are hot or not and what’s in that plastic bag.

Thank you Jason Sandquist

Feng Shui Failmagic room MLS Fail Shots [Episode 5]

There is so little that makes sense that this almost looks like an ablum cover.  This is what happens when pedestrian, middle America decides to turn a basement into living space.  Listen up America: Under no circumstances is faux walnut wood paneling acceptable, painting doesn’t fix it and trying to make it all “pop” with a festive red coverlet with the bed on the south wall just makes you look like white trash with a new bedspread.  Turn off HGTV at once.  Design on a Dime lied to you.

Special Thanks to Annie Onymous

Family Portrait Fail

kids fail blank MLS Fail Shots [Episode 5]

Come on kids, mommy got a new listing.  After piano lessons I need to swing by and take some pictures of it.  I’ll take you for ice cream afterwords if you’re good girls and just sit still.  Say cheese!

Thanks to another Mr. Nobody for this image.

Have you ever seen a picture in the MLS that just made you shake your head?  This is the place where the thought and the photo collide.  If you have a photo you’d like to share email to mailto:MLSfailpics@gmail.com.  We’ll make you famous and link to your blog.

  1. I like the family portrait I think it passes.

  2. Love this series of posts. It should be up for a Pulitzer or whatever the Blogosphere’s equivalent is.

A client once told me that if there are no photos on the Internet they just cross the house off their list. My guess is if they saw these photos on the Internet they wouldn’t put it at the top of their “go to” list.

And how’d you get a picture of may basement? :-)

  3. Lani Rosales says:

“Design on a Dime lied to you.” OMG AWESOME! lol

  4. Yes, they lied. There, I said it.

I can’t wait to see T’s listing photos with Boomer rocking on the front porch drinking cofee.

Ken, I think Pulitzer is a bit extreme, unless Pulitzer is Germain for black list. :)

  5. Missy Caulk says:

Are you kidding me, I can’t believe these were in the MLS. A electrical box. LOL

  6. Love the pictures!

I think I showed that first one a couple months ago!

And the pink bedspread – oh my – oh my.

  7. There is a funny blogger who has a blog called “It’s lovely, I’ll take it” where she makes fun of MLS photos. Her one today is hilariously bad…

You two should get together. She has a wicked sense of humor too…

  8. Thanks for stopping in kids! Next week has some real classics.

Many thanks to those who emailed picts!

  9. Paula Henry says:

Chris – just looking through the MLS pictures some days is the perfect opportunity to have a good laugh. Add your sense of humor and I am falling off my chair!
