Passion-based professional network
Just like the seemingly constant increase of social networking sites, professional networking sites are consistently coming to the public light. Now, you can add Zerply to that list. Even though there are several other professional networking sites currently on the internet— LinkedIn, to name one example —Zerply was created with a unique spin in mind. The network was created for professionals who actually love what they do every single day. While Zerply is about professional services and the knowledge related to those services, it’s also about passion.
The Zerply office is located in Mountain View, California and they have received a $100,000 round of unattributed funding in 2010, running a lean startup. Zerply was founded by Taaniel Jakobs from Estonia and Christofer Karltorp from Sweden and is truly an international team with employees from the Czech Republic, England, and even a few from the great state of Ohio. And because Zerply’s team members are spread across the world, it gives Zerply a distinctive and unique perspective, a perspective that is based on cultural differences and contrasting and complimentary professional experiences and goals.
Superior aesthetics
Zerply allows and encourages users to create an eye-pleasing page online that emphasizes and showcases professional skills, career goals, specific expertise, and related professional experience. Users can customize their Zerply profiles to fit their needs and their goals and they can choose up to five tags and five skills that represent who they are as business professionals. Users even get a one liner, in sixty characters or less, to describe exactly who they are and, of course, a short public bio. In short, Zerply gives users the opportunity to find other professionals and also be found by those looking for specific skills and experiences.
Because Zerply is relatively new, the one downside is that their member numbers aren’t as high as more established professional networking sites, but that’s a given. With that being said, Zerply is set up to make a big impact on the online networking world, as it connects professionals in the same industries with similar skills and interests and those who are looking for specific services for their own needs. The more people who join Zerply, the more influential it could become as people signing up today have high hopes with connecting with like-minded and equally passionate professionals tomorrow.
