ag altos reports Tell Me Something Good

Typical

“Hey, how are you doing?”

“Fine”

“How are you?”

“Good, you?”….as we walk away

The Reunion

Clint Swindall was the Key Note Speaker at Keller Williams Family Reunion, held in Orlando a couple of weeks ago.  Clint is the author of Engaged Leadership and a Owner of Verbalosity.

Instead of the same o same o greeting, Clint suggested greeting folks with, “Hi tell me something good!”

The Challenge

Problems or Opportunities

Run Away from or Run to Something

Hang out with positive people or hang out with negative ones

Bounce out of bed and greet folks with a “tell me something good.” Watch their expressions, make them think. It is all in how you approach your day and your business. We have a choice in how we approach the day.The choices we make each day, determine our destiny.

Our Choices

Every office has two kinds of people. Those agents who are dedicated, hard working agents, writing offers, accepting the market and working in it. The agents who are whining about the market, complaining about their sellers or buyers, or griping about the leads not being good.

As I tell my kids, to be successful, “check your bad attitude at the door.”

“So tell me something good….”

I’ve been using that since returning from Orlando, and it’s pretty funny watching the reactions. Mostly, the response I get is, “Huh?”
Amazing how many people, even after I explain what I said, have to really think about something good to say.
Sadly, I’m often one of those people…somethin’ good? I’m ready to change!

  2. Can you say ‘Tell me something good, otherwise go away cuz I don’t want to hear it?’ LOL Some people are tough to be around. Can’t imagine what it’s like living in their head.

  3. Missy Caulk says:

Matt, we are so use to the standard greeting we are really blown away.

Lisa, oh yea…that’s a good one.

  4. Ken Brand says:

Awareness is half the battle…if there is a battle, which I don’t really see it as…at least not most of the time. And when I battle, it’s usually with my alter ego.

Anyway, while I’m aware that I’m a dealer in “hope”, I’m also a realist, if it’s gonna get done, it’s up to us. Gotta make the best of things happen with own hands, hearts and minds.

I’m excited about the future….it can’t get here fast enough.

  5. Elaine Reese says:

I try to avoid the negative people with a passion. They are such downers, and I just don’t care to be around them. I talk to myself a lot and I only tell myself good things. ;-)
