Wauconda, WA sold
When the town of Wauconda, Washington was placed for sale on Ebay, the internet was all atwitter. Although it is not the first city sold through Ebay (a Texas town and several California towns have sold online), its closing this month is big news, namely because of the sales price.
Land owner Daphne Fletcher purchased the 4-acre town that features a restaurant, a small store, a gas pump, a four bedroom house and an entire zip code all to itself, for only $180,000 in 2007. In 2008, Fletcher attempted to sell the town for $1.1 million to no avail and placed it on Ebay with a reserve bid of $359,000 and received over 100 bids although many bids were fake but the winning bidders, Maddie and Neal Love who plan on using the town as their homestead.

In our area, where average home sale is $100,000 (barely) you can get an executive level home with granite or corian kitchen, 4-5 bedrooms on at least 1 acre and views for miles.
