Fannie, Freddie hit the pause button
During the holidays, various banks and government organizations sometimes freeze evictions so that families can enjoy their holiday without fear of the Sheriff and moving company knocking on the door to remove them.
Like last year, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have announced that “certain home evictions” will be suspended between December 19th and January 2nd.
Included are all foreclosure-related evictions from occupied single family homes as well as two to four unit properties held by Fannie and Freddie that have already completed the foreclosure process. The reprieve is temporary and evictions slated for that period will be executed beginning January 3rd.
The foreclosure process and notices will continue, however no one will be kicked to the curb until January.
