Square Register package helps businesses to 100% digital
Square continues to be the front runner in digital payment processing with their now famous square device that plugs into smartphones and tablets, allowing retailers and service providers to swipe credit cards on the spot. The company has taken their offering one step further by bundling hardware and software into “Square Register,” which they are calling “Business in a Box,” allowing merchants to create a point of sale without having to buy endless pieces of the puzzle, and making companies’ finances fully digital.
Square Register not only accepts payments but tracks sales, and allows product information to be stored and shared. It is an increasingly popular alternative to the traditional cash register not only for its portability, but because it offers data, analytics, and simplicity.
Hardware packages start at $299 and the company says everything is customizable according to a user’s needs and it can all be returned for free within 30 days to make sure the transition works for each particular company. The company says the goal of their plug-and-play option is to replace the piecing together of multiple hardware components from multiple manufacturers, manage complicated contracts and pricing structures, and pay for expensive software licensing and service plans.
Square said in a statement, “With Business in a Box for Square Register, merchants can now simplify their countertop with an affordable and comprehensive package that includes two Square Readers, an iPad stand, a cash drawer, and an optional receipt printer. All work wirelessly with Square Register.”
Square points to Holly Pils of Boopa’s Bagel Deli who has been baking for the Fort Worth, Texas community for over ten years. From her printer to her cash drawer, she runs her business on Square. “We’re a neighborhood business that has been in the community for more than 13 years and we need to make smart decisions so we can make great bagels for decades to come,” said Pils. “My customers and employees love Square and it could not have been simpler or quicker to set up. Square has saved us time and money.”
