Tensions Mount Between Agent Genius & Active Rain
International trouble brewing…
Tensions this high haven’t been seen since the Cuban missle crisis and people on all sides are scrambling to find an amicable resolution. At 1:09 am CST on November 26, 2008, Qwitter.com notified both Benn Rosales, founder of AgentGenius.com and Lani Rosales, New Media Director of AgentGenius.com that ActiveRain.com CEO Jonathan Washburn was no longer following either on microblogging service Twitter.com.
ActiveRain.com was unavailable for comment, but AgentGenius.com has sent in Condoleeza Rice on their behalf, stay tuned as the international crisis mounts, updates will be given in comments.

He stopped following me too last night at about 10:30pm. It was shortly after I published a favorable blog of Dwellicious, mentioning Benn’s great review.

I looked at who he was following and they all seem to be Soccer Moms. How strange is that?
Some dialogue needs to be established immediately between all of these fine organizations. No pre-conditions, just start talking it out.
I think Jay and Chris need to establish some dialogue with Jon as well.
Therefore my suggestion would be to video poke Jon on Facebook and see if you all can establish a discussion.

I realize everyone’s trying to have fun here, but isn’t broadcasting unfollows rather poor netiquette?
I got quited by JW. So it must be a Lenderama thing as well. To be honest, until I saw the Quitter email, I forgot JW was even on twitter.
Anyway, I quit back, didn’t send any envoys, and moved on. Unfollowing @tcar and @laniar is a serious twitterati fail that’s not worth reconciling.

I got unfollowed too. Then I went and unsubscribed from my localism communities and sent a message on twitter to @jonwashburn, which he will never see. Not really being that petty about the unfollow. Had already planned to drop the communities, but his unfollow reminded me to take care of that.

I had no idea what I was thinking. I am a twitter novice – have some mercy.
Everytime I try twitter, I end up quitting a few days later cause I get overwhelmed trying to keep up. (I started with twitter before there were twitter aps.) So I figured this time I would try to only follow a few people.
Although it has been a lot of fun watching all of the reaction today – makes me feel special going into the holiday weekend.

I have suspected recently that the blog boom (toss Twitter, Facebook, and other social media in with it) is largely due to the fact that many (not all) of the bloggers aren’t doing a fraction of their usual real estate business anymore, thus they have too much time on their hands, thus the online networking boom.
After reading this post, I no longer suspect but know that there’s too much idle time for many in the RE industry.
