Getting to the store to get the cards has been the problem for me. I used to go with a big list with everybody's names on it but it got to be too much. Oh - get a card for Weston - he's going to be 6. A card for Tony and Rachel for their first wedding anniversary. A few more and I was annoyed and frustrated.
Hopefully there's an idea here for everyone!

Hi Karen – Great suggestion.

Getting to the store to get the cards has been the problem for me. Every time I have a buyer closing, I write a Thank You note, which gets mailed about a week after closing. And, at the same time, I write up the 1 year house anniversary card. I make a note on the outside bottom corner of the month-day of the closing, and then I put it at the bottom of the pile. Every week or two I look at the top card and see if it is time to mail it yet.
One tip...do NOT seal the envelopes until ready to mail. I changed brokerages a couple of years ago and had to rip open all the stamped envelopes to get inside to change the business cards.
Oh...I found a house anniversary card in the Sell Smart catalog.

I’ve found an easy solution to getting too busy to send out cards. Hallmark quality cards for $.62 rather than the $3+ I see in the Hallmark site. If you want personal, you can even use your own handwriting! You send them a sample of your writing (every letter, number, symbol, etc), they scan it in, and you get online, type your message, and a personalized card gets sent in your handwriting!
You can make the front of the card any photo you upload, and include up to 4 photos on the inside of the card. It's only $.93 with the photos.
Go to www.SendOutCards.com/Thomson and set up a guest account and send a couple of cards to try it!
It's the best way I've found to keep in touch with clients.
**It is a network marketing company, so yes I do have a financial interest in this as well. I'm okay with that since it's a tool you'll love.

Great idea, but let me suggest something even better! www.SendOutCards.com/Thomson<br

Being retired military and with a strong VA client base - I like to get Masters pin flags and have my client's friends sign them as a going away gift. You can only get the flags at the Augusta National during Masters Week, so I have to remember to stock up, but it's a powerful going away gift for those Sellers who are golf fans.

Great ideas here Vicki. Most fill it out. It's funny they always forget.
I gave it to a client, they filled it out. I brought one of the items they listed to the signing they said, "How did you know we like...?"
It's a way to give someone something that they'll like and it makes it easier on me in trying to figure it out.
I went to a wedding reception - it was nice to know they like champagne. Makes me almost forget about the time I gave a bottle of wine to someone in recovery.

I typically email it to them in a locked document file that they can fill out and send back. Wondering when and how do you present it? How has the feedback from your clients been? Does everyone fill it out or do they pass it off to let it be forgotten? Does doing such a survey then cheapen the appreciation gifts or do people forget about it?

I like the idea of the client appreciation survey sheet (for all those details we could use for just such a case).
