I got an email yesterday from the US Embassy in Thailand that they're evaluating whether to send a charter plane. Maybe all those phone calls/emails we've been sending have had an effect! Sure makes me even more leery about leaving the US. Now I know that the govt won't do anything to help me if I'm in trouble. The Bangkok airport has opened which gives them hope but also scares them because of the chaos involved in trying to get thousands and thousands of people out. She has a tentative flight on the 9th and hopes that the protesters won't go crazy again since the King's birthday is on the 5th - for some reason that's a concern.
