Most sincere gratitude

No matter your profession, religion, skin color or age, the 4th of July is one of the most important celebrations in our nation. Miss Caulk wrote about the history of this day and about how her family is celebrating and we take pause today to remember everyone in the past, present and future that have risked their lives to protect our freedom.

On the forefront protecting our liberty is the American military men and women and we cannot overstate our gratitude for them and their families left behind to worry. Writing this today has me choked up and I hope that you take pause too to remember everyone who has and will continue to fight for our safety and freedom. From the bottom of our hearts, on behalf of the Agent Genius family, we thank you.

Prayer for the military:

Regardless of your religious beliefs, please take pause to pray or meditate on the following words:

This prayer that I say tonight is for our troops who all must fight.
These are the troops that we all love and so I pray to God above,
Please keep them safe while they’re away and bring them home to us someday.

This prayer is not for ours alone but for all military far from home.
I ask You to keep them safe and sound, on their way to where they’re bound.
We love them all that are asked to fight so keep them safe for us tonight.

Hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.

Joe, that is my husbands favorite movie. The Ike is on it's way home, in the Red Sea, going through the straits. Thank God for email and God Bless your son. He learned his patriotism from dad.

Missy, as a retired Navy Chief, I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving your son to the service. It is the mothers - more than anyone else - who sacrifice the most. As I read this post, I thought of the scene in Saving Private Ryan of the Chaplain and the Officer pulling up to the Ryan farm and the mother collapsing on the stoop. A movie, yes, but there's a Navy ship - "USS The Sullivans" - named for just such an incomprehensible sacrifice - five brothers who all perished on the same ship. My step-son is a Hospital Corpsman at the Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy. He is transferring to Camp Lejeune to become a Fleet Marine Force Corspman. This is against all our pleading to the contrary. If it wasn't for young men like your son, and my Kyle, this country would not be worth living in. Navy Chief, Navy Pride

I appreciate the link and am praying for my son today especially as he is on the Dwight D. Eisenhower. It is so important to the survival of our Nation and it's Freedom that we continue to remember and reflect on the sacrifice of so many who went before us carrying the vision in their hearts. That quote by Roosevelt says so much the heart cry of many.

WOW- I got goose bumps reading this! The article, pictures and prayer are fantastic and should remind usthat "Freedom is not Free." There are brave men & women who fight for us every day and for that I am eternally grateful.
