Raising donations and awareness
Raising donations and awareness for your cause – whether it’s saving an endangered animal or funding a women’s shelter—can be a harrowing task. It takes up valuable time that you could spend physically helping rather than spending countless hours in promotional efforts. However, with the use of social networking, it is a little easier to have a broad charitable outreach. Even so, it’s still time-consuming and tedious. But it doesn’t have to be. That’s where HelpAttack comes into the picture.
HelpAttack is an Austin-based startup that is centered on combining social media and networking with your favorite charitable causes. Imagine what you could earn for your charity or cause if every Tweet, Facebook update, or uploaded Flickr picture actually benefited your cause and made a difference. It’s all about advocacy and cause-awareness. It’s also about gathering donors, partners, and individuals to help advance your charitable agenda.
Using HelpAttack is easy
Using HelpAttack is easy and has the potential to create a force behind your efforts. And here’s how it works. You can proposition a company to donate a quarter every time someone uses a specific, related hashtag, like #SavetheWolves or #TeamCleanWater. Or you can encourage individuals to donate five cents each time they update their Facebook status, and the status update doesn’t even have to be related to the cause.
If you want to help a cause that is already underway, you could choose to make a small donation every time “your friend, an overseas volunteer, posts a photo on Flickr about their experience.” HelpAttack is open-ended. Whatever social method you can dream up to help a cause, they can make it possible. Everyday social interactions hold the power for change and progress and HelpAttack has put that concept into practice.
Now, no company, individual, or partner has an excuse not to support a noble and worthy charitable cause. And there isn’t much required of them—a small donation for each social media action or even spreading the word about the cause to their followers and social friends. One small charitable effort can have a rippling effect. HelpAttack gives support and an outlet for that ripple to begin.
The world could use more positive impacts, and the combination of HelpAttack and daily social media interactions not only makes it possible, but makes it far-reaching, easy, and convenient.
